Summary of product types

Our products are based on naturally occuring, renewable materials. In the case of our processed oils, we supply a wide range of products manufactured from a selection of natural oils which includes:

  • Linseed oil
  • Rapeseed oil
  • Soyabean oil
  • Castor oil
  • Sunflower oil
  • Safflower oil
  • Arachis oil

We can supply other more specialised oils and associated products such as fatty esters on request.

The above oils can be processed to give the following product ranges:-

Unrefined oils - high quality natural oils, extracted from the seeds or beans and not further processed. A number of them are specially selected to conform to pharmaceutical specifications.

Refined oils - manufactured from raw/crude oils by the removal of impurities such as free fatty acids, phosphatides and colour bodies thus producing pale coloured refined oils which have low free fatty acid contents.

Blown oils - also known as oxidised oils, they are manufactured under controlled conditions of temperature and pressure to allow oxygen to react with the oil to produce an oxidised polymer. They are available in a range of viscosities from 1 poise @ 25°C.

Boiled oils - produced from linseed oil using one or more metallic driers to give a range of products with varying colours and drying times. The metallic driers accelerate the drying process by catalytic means, which allow films to surface dry within a few hours.

Stand oils - also known as heat polymerised oils, they are manufactured under controlled conditions of temperature and vacuum to produce a wide range of polymers. The oils are pale in colour, low in acid value and are available in a range of viscosities.

Emulsifiable oils - a range of vegable oils that have been processed to make them water emulsifiable thus allowing VOC levels to be reduced or eliminated in some formulations.
